GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP

1. Kritika Tantia (9-1) took part in the 18th inter school golf championship and secured 6th position in the above 13 girls category.

2. Ananya Parakkal (8-2) took part in the 18th inter school golf and secured 6th position in the above 13 girls category.



INTER SCHOOL SHOOTING CHAMPIONSHIP

1. Serene Lydia S. (9-2) participated in the National Shooting Championship. She qualified for the Indian Team selection trails in the Sub-Youth, Youth and Junior Categories. She also participated in the All India Kumar Surendra Singh(AIKSS) National Inter-School Shooting Championship and secured first position.



RELAY COMPETITION

1. Rashi Menon (12-C), Xara Menezes (12-H), Naisha Agarwal (11-S), Hazel Chen (9-1) took part in the Inter School Relay Competition, organized by the Indus Valley World School and secured third position.

2. Naisha Agarwal (11-S), Yasna Buchia (11-H), Hazel Chen (9-1), Euiven Chen (6-2) participated in the Inter-Loreto Relay hosted by Loreto Entally and secured third position.

3. Tisha Dakalia (10-2), Tanushka Ghosh (10-1), Rashi Menon (12-C), Xara Menezes (12-H) participated in the 4x100 metre Baton Relay Event hosted by Assembly of God Church School they secured third place.

Rashi Menon (12-C), Spursh Sharma (12-S), Cynthia Hou (12-C), Naisha Agarwal (11-S), Yasna Buchia (11-H), Pari Gupta(11-C), Surveen Kaur Kohli (11-S), Samriddhi Jain (9-1), Kritika Tantia (9-1), Vanshika Modi (9-1), Adwita Bubna and Dhwani Chandak participated in the under-19 category securing the first place. Our school also participated in the under-14 and under-17 categories.

Jennifer Rao (12-H), Swastika Patra (10-1), Akshita Maitra (8-2) and Sanasha Gupta (6-1) participated where Swastika secured first place and Sanasha secured third place in their categories.

Naisha Agarwal and Yasna Buchia secured the third place in the under-19 category. Our school participated in the under-17 category as well.



TABLE TENNIS

Tithi Mukherjee, Sohini Mitra, Kritika Tantia, Yashvi Manek, Prishita Mukhia and Aishwarya Bhowmick participated in their respective age categories.



RIFLE SHOOTING

Syrene Lydia S. participated and secured second position.

In the under-19 category four students, namely, Rashi Menon, Cynthia Hou, Naisha Agarwal, Yasna Buchia and Samriddhi Jain were selected for Basketball Nationals and in the under-17 category, Versha Singh and Adhya Agarwal and in the under-14 category Dhruvika Das was selected.

Junior School Sports Day, 2016

Junior school had organised their sports day on 12th November 2016 at Loreto Convent Entally. The children were asked to assemble at the venue by 08:30 am. They came in their colourful costumes and the children were waiting eagerly for the chief guest to arrive. The event began with a prayer led by Principal Sr. Nirmala. The chief guest Mr. Chaubey declared the sports open. After this the children walked down in a parade carrying banners with a sports theme message. They also carried a potted plant symbolising new life. The four’s and the five’s smartly marched with the army band. Girls were chosen from each class as torch bearers who opened the sports day ceremony. The children took their oath and thereafter sang the theme song “Fun and Frolic”. After this activity relay to Nursery to class II took place followed by the drill display by the students of Class KG, Class I, Class II and Class III. The class I to V had batton relay along with inter Loreto batton relay. The class four’s and class five’s along with the activity relay also participated in gymnastics, yoga, karate and dumbbells. Arrangements were also made for teacher’s race, domestic staff race and parents race. The members of the students’ council also gave a lovely performance. Forty children had come from Thakurpukur. They were well trained and put up a spectacular show which won the hearts of the audience. The event ended with a note of thanks by the Principal Sr. Nirmala. The chief guest encouraged the children to play games on the field rather than playing games on electronic gadgets.

at Loreto Day School Dharamtala

Loreto Day School Dharamtala organized Sports Day on 19th November 2016. Loreto House Came 1st for their Inter Loreto Invitation Baton Relay.



The Inter House Sports Competition

The first day of our two day Inter House Sports Competition was held on the 21st of November. Different classes were cheering their teams on as they competed fiercely with each other on the cricket pitch, the Badminton court and the throw ball field.

It was a fun and eventful morning which taught us the importance of team work and healthy competition.

We would like to thank sister and Mrs.Basu for allowing us to organize this event and Mrs. Chakraverty for her constant guidance and support in ensuring that this event was a big success.

Students of Loreto House practiced vigorously for the Basket ball Competition that was held on 26th January 2017. Guidance from Physical Education Teacher and various coaches enabled them to master their skills in the game.
